Welcome to our new section! Now, you have the chance to share your thoughts with the rest of our readers. Our purpose in creating this section is to give more of you the advantage of getting involved and sharing your views, creativity, and stories (factual or fictional). Think of it as our gift to you for the holidays; what more could you ask for? This section will give you a voice that will put your views out there, and we definitely need more diversity of opinions.

What are we looking for?? Well… we are interested in any stories, poems, lyrics, or any pensive and imaginative little anecdotes you may come across. To give you guys a better idea, without further delay…

If I were to depart this hour
From the earth on which I dwell
Would Jesus take me to Heaven
Or would He send my soul to Hell?
     I solemnly ask this question-
How do I live my life?
What words would be spoken of me
If I died this very night?
Have I stood mighty and high
     My bosom swelled with pride
     Brimming full of myself
     Intoxicated with my own desires?
Have my words been sweetly spoken
Or poisonous venom have they been?
     Will words someday haunt me
When my life comes to an end?
I started thinking about what one can take
And what one must leave behind.
     Once important things seem trivial
     When your world slowly untwines.
Can I see someone crying for help
When I look into their eyes?
Can I see into their heart
Or have I never gotten past their disguise?
Can I give someone another chance
Like so often has been given to me?
Will I help them make the change
That just might set them free?
     Today I look inside myself
     And solemnly make this vow-
Whatever it takes to break me
     God, change my heart somehow.
     Open my eyes to others
Their silent cries I might heed.
Make my heart to be tender
To whatever may be their need.
No matter what we do in the future,
Regardless of what we’ve done in the past,
When we leave it all behind us
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
     Kym Henderson

A big “thank you” to Kym for sharing her heart-felt (not to mention AWESOME) poem! Now, I would like to share with you some lyrics from a song that helps pick me back up again when I’m feeling let down.

“The Cruise” by: The Rentals
There’s so many of you, so many people I see
So many of you that I’d like to meet
There’s so many things we could do
If you only knew
Jump with you, <laugh> with you, <talk about life> and find
That some people care and some they don’t mind
It don’t matter, we do what we do
As we break on through
We are on the cruise!
Optimistic right now, maybe I am
I know how so many people hate that
They’d rather see you lose
And drag you in the hole they’re into
Jump with you, laugh with you, babble while they criticize
Let them say what they say, no I really don’t mind
Just let them do what they do
As we break on through
We are on the cruise!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the thought-inducing debut of our newest addition. Hopefully, next time more of you will be able to submit something. If you have any questions, ideas, or submissions, find me- Julie, Jules, “Pikachu”, whatever… I’ll leave you with this:

“It’s so easy to laugh; it’s so easy to hate. It takes strength to be gentle and kind.” -Morrissey
