In this month’s i2i, we check in on an area ministry “Contact” and one of their leaders— Joel Foxworth. We expect big things working with them this year...

The Link: What is your vision for Contact and the young people of Southeast Texas?

Joel Foxworth: Contact is a ministry for young adults all throughout Southeast Texas where they can come and feel accepted. One of our main goals is to build genuine relationships. Our purpose statement says it is our objective at Contact to equip young adults with the ministry tools to make a difference. The services are on Saturday nights and consist of intense worship, relevant teaching, and genuine relationships. I would like to see Contact accomplish the goals we have preordained. I would like to see every college age person that walks into a service and be able to leave with the passion and wisdom to be able to make a difference. I believe we are in a great move of God and the Holy Spirit is being poured out upon all flesh.

TL: What do you think Contact has to offer the area's young people?

JF: At Contact, young people from all over Southeast Texas can develop real relationships, grow closer to God, and learn tools to help build their local church and its ministries.

TL: Do you feel contact's mission is to minister to the lost, or are you bringing a new ministry to those already involved in their own local churches?

JF: Our ministry appeals more to the hungry Christian. To put it all very clearly, Contact is a place to come and meet with God. A place where other young people come because they want to know God more. I encourage and challenge anyone who wants to know God more to come and be a part.

TL: How can I get more information about Contact?

JF: Contact is held every Saturday night at Church on the Rock in Nederland at 7:30 pm. If you have any questions about Contact or how to get to Church on the Rock, call Joel Foxworth's pager at 785-2707 or call the church and ask for Cazzy Francis 724-0335.

TL: Mui bueno Joel… is there anything else you would like to add?

JF: Yes… We welcome people of all ages and encourage pastors to come out see what are services are like. Our speakers are ALWAYS strong Christian leaders who speak directly from the Word of God, and you can feel the tangible presence of God during almost every worship service. Come be a part and bring your walk with God to the next level. Allow us to be the vessel of God to help you be real and make a difference. We are a pro-local church organization and do not believe in stealing sheep out of other churches. We honestly only want to give and bless others with tools to help change this area and make an impact on this world.
