This issue we highlight some of the most recent releases in
Christian music...

Touching the Face of God
“Two
ordinary young men embarked upon an extraordinary project endeavoring
to pursue the presence of God” – so begins the notes on the
freshly cut “Touching the Emotions of God “, a new album filled
with beautiful spontaneous worship music. With only the nuances of a
baby grand piano and lilting sounds of a saxophone providing the live
recording’s tenor, this album makes excellent background music for
anybody’s personal time with God, be it in prayer, Bible reading, or
worship. New artists Joey Fulfer (saxophone) and Len Ballenger (piano)
have struck gold their first time out. This cd will be available from
our website in the next few weeks, contact us before then for
purchasing options..

The Road to Oneday
Word on the Street would not be
complete this issue without a review of Passion’s new album – “The Road
to Oneday”. Released this past March, there is something on it for everyone’s
taste. Watermark’s duo of Nathan and Christy Nockels lend their touch
throughout the album, from the rocking initial cut “Salvation” by music
maestro Charlie Hall, to Shelly Nirider’s soaring voice in “Jesus, Lover
of My Soul”, every song on the cd brings you one step closer in worship to
the living God.

Soundtracks usually attempt to push artists and genres
together into one moment that would never fly on your favorite radio station,
creating a hit and miss listening experience. But when an album like Music
from and Inspired by Jesus, The Epic Mini-Series (airing in May on
CBS) comes along featuring a rare alliance between top mainstream artists and
Christian performers, you hope for the best from the magnificent opportunity.
All one can really do is forget the odds and examine the content at hand:
Emerging from the increasingly valid talents in the Christian hip-hop
community comes KJ-52, representing the Sons of Intellect posse.
